The next NEON www.myspace.com/neonknites will be at ROTTURE on Friday, June 13th. That night we are proud to put on the first Portland performance of The Skin Electric, Portland's newest electro band. The Skin Electric is the newly formed musical project of, Ray Wimmers (AKA: VJ Welkin/Welkin Ring- www. myspace. com/welkinring) and Randy Burns (AKA: The Nothing Man- www. myspace. com/heyitsthenothingman) have been making music together for 11 years. They both have recently moved to Portland from Asheville NC where they had much success in the local scene there. Within that time they have made all sorts of electronic music, ranging from experimental drum and bass to down tempo electronica. The music they make today is heavily influenced by the time period where punk was merging into an electronic set, where Joy Division became New Order. They achieve that sound and relate it to the current sound of todays electronic music by combining hardware/analog synths and samplers such as the SP 808, the Jupiter 6, Juno 106. they also use software including Reaktor, Absynth and Abelton live for sequencing, recording, music production and performance
.
Their songs are comprised of varying beats and bps, but include plenty of 4 on the floor, drum and bass, and a hybid of elctro groove teamed up with pop vocals to keep you moving. Don't expect them to hide behind their laptops. They promise to give you 30-45 minutues of a full on multimedia interactive electro experience.

Before and after The Skin Electric's performance DJs Pocketrock-it, Patricia Furpurse, and Koolaid will provide you with the music you need to dance all night. VJ Welkin will be mixing video.

I had a really amazing time last night. Random parties that someone invites you to through myspace can never go wrong! Kiera and I decided to mingle with people in line for the bathroom, although neither of us had to deposit anything. It's the best place to meet people and break the ice. honestly. Its really funny when someone asks 'is this the line for the bathroom?', and you reply with 'yes, but we're not in it'. The look on the face of said person is picture perfect. Highlights of the evening include free booze, very entertaining folk in different states of inebriation, and the makeout room (what an amazing idea for a party). One girl acted and looked exactly like anna nicole smith, it was priceless. Also, I went to the starlight parade because my mom was in it.

I bought the newer princess superstar album just to hold me over until the new peaches cd in july (impeach my bush). I almost respect her more though, because she's been 'round longer.

Last night/the night before I went to the fag bars with joe, and it was really nice to see him. That whole scene is soooo not me though although i had fun. There was a tranny selling jello shots in plastic syringes that she and her assistants would splooge in your mouth. It was awkwardly fantastic! Wish I had pictures. The first night, we hung out with this dude who looked exactly like my older brother but just really really gay.

wow its sooo weird, my sophomore year at college is over on may 5th. Got a lot a shit to do though. The summer is going to rock, not only because of future good times with high school friends, but THE CONCERTS!!!

GOLDFRAPP!!!! May 10th at the crystal (I already bought my ticket, and it was only 16 fucking dollar motherfucker!)

Las Vegas was sooooo ridiculous. I went to a gay club by myself, and as soon as I walked in, the beat from 'AA XXX" by peaches dropped, and I went wild at the bar. I was singing and dancing, then this 50 year old woman walked by singing as well. So I approached her, and asked her how she knew this song. She said that her son was the dj, and i flipped. So we both approached him and told him to play more peaches songs. He didn't, but he did play 'chewing gum' by annie, 'muscle cars' by mylo/freeform five, and ghost ride the whip! They had male dancers too, and I put money in one of their hot pants. I then took a tequila shot with the dj's mom, and I had to explain to her how to do it. She tried to put the lime in her mouth at first, it was way funny. My older brother almost had sex with a prostiture too!! Ha. I guess the what they say about vegas is true. Didn't gamble much though, I didnt really want to, besides wheel of fortune (cause my moms won 2000 dollars on that).

anyway, gotta get back to making my tessellation tie

wow playing america's next top model drinking games gits her dunnnn! At first, we took a shot of jager everytime someone cried, and also everytime they showed a photo of tyra banks. Let's just say they showed 2 pictures of her right when the show started, and you can guess where it went from there. Then a fight occurred, and of course one of them bitches cried. Who I think will win: Jade, nnena, or danielle.

I am such a lazy bum, just ordered a cheesy bites pizza from pizza hut. Sound gross, but sooooo good.

haven't updated in a while which is weird, but it's time again I suppose. Today I discovered that stanton warriors are playing on folsom street in sf a week from today for FUCKING 15 DOLLA MOTHAFUCKAS! And on april 8th freeform five is playing somewhere in the city. I started jumping for joy when i found this out. I may have to go to stanton alone though because its 21+

spring break is nice. We are babysitting our friend olivia's bunny and its so cute. Our cat yam runs around and attacks it (she is getting spayed today though, so she's gonna be bitchy tomorrow).

I officially changed my major to illustration! This is amazing because I realized how most of the painting teachers are full of bullshit and are all drunks. Illustration is where its at yall.

My 21st birthday is coming up reeaaalll soon. Las vegas all the way baby!

just bought the freeform five 'misch masch' cd, which is weird to me because the basement jaxx cd is called kisch-kash and they sound strikingly similar, although i did realize that I like freeform's dj skillz better. But i like basement jaxx's original songs better. I dont know if that made sense....

tonight has been super depressing, besides the fun I had with friends which was a nice distraction. happy birthday laura btw,

so I saw brokeback mountain today. I dont know what to say, but about the last 10 minutes of the movie I was hysterically crying, and afterwards as well. The crying that you cant hide. The crying where it's hard to breathe. Beyond just being practically the most heartbreaking story ive encountered in a long time, it reminded me of my past relationships/non-relationships. It reminds me of two non-relationships which were hard for me to handle in my past, and still pretty hard to deal with. It reminds me of zac and taylor. Well, im way over the whole zac thing that went on in my head I suppose. But for some reason I just cant get over the fact that I still have feelings for taylor. It disgusts me and makes me feel like it was something my mind was playing out and perpetuating. I just think of the trip to europe that I experienced with him. And how I felt closer to him than I had any other man before. It was hard sitting in front of notre dame that starry night and directly telling him to his face how I felt. Ive never been able to say the things I said directly to anyone Ive had feelings for before. It was hard for me to hear the response. It could have been perfect.

I just dont know anymore. I'm still young, but it doesnt really matter I suppose.

I want the love that was so forbidden in the film I saw today. The end was so depressing that I really have no hope anymore....
